Head coach of the Black stars of Ghana Chris Hughton has asserted that he will do everything possible to make the team successful under his watch.

Ghana football association has officially outdoored new black stars head coach Chris Hughton in Kumasi today after signing a 21-month contract which ends in December 2024.

It was revealed that two assistant coaches thus George Boateng and Mas-Ud-Didi Dramani have signed contracts with the GFA to aid Chris Hughton in his managerial role.

The football governing body indicated that performance review will be conducted after 2024 to determine the continuity of the technical team based on their performance.

In his address to the media, the new black stars gaffer said he is proud to be the head coach of the black stars and he is working on improving the relationship among the black star players, the GFA and the supporters.

“Regarding my emotions of course I have been involved with the association and with the team for almost a year now. I have worked in different capacities as technical advisor but what I have to do is to get   the squad to build that relationship with the association and for those around the association. As most of you know the majority of my managerial career has been at the club level and also as a player I represented the republic of Ireland. So to represent Ghana as the black stars head coach is something I am incredibly proud of,” he told the media.

The former Tottenham manager indicated that he will give off his best to ensure that the senior national team becomes a successful team under his tutelage and also called on the support of Ghanaians ahead of the African cup of nations qualifier game against Angola on Thursday, 23 March 2023 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

“I will give everything to make the team as successful as possible and is something that I will do to make sure the communication and the relationship that I have with the association, those around the association and of course the supporters improve. To give all of my best is something that I am hugely looking forward to and our very much attention is on that game and is all about support from the association and mostly the support from the huge array of fans we have and that start with a very difficult game in Kumasi on Thursday,” He added.

Black stars of Ghana will be expecting to kick start their AFCON qualifying campaign on a good note with a convincing win and a good performance against Angola to boost the confidence Ghanaians have in new coach Chris Hughton.
